What are full upper and lower dentures?

Full dentures, or complete dentures, are a removable device that can be used to replace missing teeth. The denture teeth utilized are made out of 5 layer composite acrylic utilizing nanotechnology and held together by an acrylic base providing an extremely durable long lasting denture.

The base of a denture is intended to mimic the look and colour of the natural gum and is made up of carefully pigmented acrylic known as polymethyl methacrylate, or PMMA. The visible PMMA surfaces are highly polished to look as natural as possible, and they also help to prevent the build-up of odour-causing bacteria on your dentures to keep them feeling fresh and clean.

Do I need full dentures & how do they work?

If you’re considering your false teeth options, full dentures may be needed when you lose all of your teeth and they can help fill out your appearance again, and leaving you feeling more confident to smile. Upper dentures tend to cover the roof of your mouth, while the lower denture is U-shaped to ensure there is enough room for your tongue.

Both upper and lower dentures rest on the gum tissue, and suction helps to keep them in place. Denture adhesive can also help secure your dentures and help prevent any food particles from causing discomfort, which can happen if they become trapped under the denture.
